Intervention art trails 2011

Miniature street art by Chewing Gum Man

In our wish to bring contemporary independent art practice to a wider audience in Fitzrovia, we will be placing original artwork in 20-25 local shops and businesses for a period of 3 weeks in Spring 2011.

We already have solid community links with local organisations and businesses who wish to house artworks on the trail in the windows of their participating venues. A specially designed art trail map will be printed to guide viewers around the area and we are producing a bespoke Google Map to complement the printed guide. We also hope to conduct a number of artist-led guided tours, to feature the history and future of Fitzrovia, including some of the many commercial art galleries moving into Fitzrovia, creating interest in the area and hopefully allowing us to establish a biennale to complement the growing Festival of Architecture events in Fitzrovia every other year.

We are experienced in running public art interventions, the most recent being the Fitzrovia Trail as part of the London Festival of Architecture with our open studio event and the installation of paintings at the HOK offices on Whitfield Street and holding regularly changing exhibitions at Reynolds cafe on Charlotte Street.
